MAGNERS COMEDY
GLASGOW INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL
The 2008 Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival (MGICF) was the biggest and most successful year since the festival began in 2003. The 2008 programme comprised of 321 events over 18 days in 40 venues across Glasgow.
With 10% more shows than 2007, sales of tickets were up 16% - with over 70,000 tickets sold since the programme was launch in January 2008.
With an impressive line-up of stars from across the globe, many of the top shows quickly sold out and led to some of the comedians adding extra nights to their performances including Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle.
This was the second year that Magners were the title sponsor for the Festival and through this partnership and close relationship with the Scottish Comedy Agency received prominent exposure of the brand across the city in the run up to, and during the festival.
The 2009 MGICF looks set to be even bigger and better, as the partners involved all work towards building on this year's success.
