Magners Pub Comedy Awards
This year, Magners has further extended its commitment to comedy by teaming up with The Publican Magazine to launch the industry’s first ever comedy awards.
The Magners Pub Comedy Awards 2008 is scouring the country to find the best comedy pub and the best pub comedian. Pubs will get the unique chance to pit their comic prowess against other pubs, whilst local comedians can stand up for their local by performing on the big stage.
The winning pub will get to host an exclusive performance from a well-known comedian at its venue, which will have the punters scratching at the door. The winning comedian bags a once in a lifetime chance to perform live on stage on behalf of his/her pub at the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
Pubs can enter the competition online at http://www.magnerspubcomedyawards.com/registration.php before holding a comedy night and submitting an entry. Successful pubs will be invited to one of three regional heats taking place throughout September, before the grand final at Jongleurs in Camden, London in October.
